1- Engines:

Early 1980: Indirect Bosch K-Jetronic injection, full electronic ignition Marelli Digiplex (F106B: 214 bhp at 6600 rpm, torque 179 ft/lbs at 4600 rpm), wet sump on all models. U.S.A., Japan, Australia: F106B 205 bhp at 6 600 tr/mn (SAE net), torque 180.75 ft/lbs at 5 000 rpm, two distributors and four exhaust pipes.

2- Interiors:

Black Nardi steering wheel, new design for upholstery and floor mats, new door trim, snap flap pocket behind the passenger seat on GTS only, a «Cavallino Rampante» embossed on the headrests, new windows controls on the console (previously on the armrests), «Cavallino Rampante» on ashtray (previously under the gear change lever), clock and oil temperature gauge at the end of the vertical part at the end of the console for early US cars. Switch back to the contour pattern of the first carbureted 308s for the console carrying the levers (before mid 1979). A new version badge is now on the fuse cover below the dashboard. Black instrumentation support, new design for the symbols for flashlights, battery and hazard lights on the dashboard lights. New cover for the safety belt top nut and new powered Unielektra rear-view mirrors. Central door locking. Change of the molded spare wheel support with the appearance of a imitation leather part at the bottom.

3- Options:

Factory options: - Air Conditioning. - Boxer paint scheme. - Metallic paint. - Rear-view mirror on passenger side. - Heated rear window (standard on U.S. version). - Large front spoiler. - Metric Michelin TRX (Campagnolo or Cromodora magnesium alloy wheels 14"x6"1/2 or 7"1/2 wheels as factory standard for Euro models; for U.S.A. models, only the 7"1/2 were proposed until 1981 when TRX became standard only for this market). - Speedline magnesium alloy wheels 16"x7" 1/2 front and 8" 1/2 rear.

- Roof spoiler.

- In 1982, Schedoni Luggage set (4 pieces) in leather, two different sets available, one for non-catalyzed cars (the handles of the two small cases fold like a pantograph, the shoe case stands vertically); the other one for catalyzed cars (the handles of the two small cases fold lying on their side , the shoe case lies horizontally on its side). The cases of the set for catalyzed cars are of different dimensions: shorter in height, as the trunk is less deep due to the catalysator; the two large flat cases are also slightly shorter in length, but the «vanity case» is wider: the shoe case lies on its side, not on its bottom. The luggage sets were generally dark red-brown for the non-catalysed cars’ set, and honey/fawn for the catalyzed cars’ set, although difference did occur. The two sets were also available in black. On special order, individual sets could be made in any other colour (we know of a crema set, and a dark red set for instance).

Dealer options: The brand and model of the radio head unit depends on the import market. It is installed by the dealer so we have, among others, the Blaupunkt CR 3001 or the Pioneer KE 4300 with a Ferrari sticker.

4- Differences between export standards:

On all U.S. cars, more prominent bumpers, body reinforcements, rear apron («diaper»), air pump device and specific front compartment layout (specific standards on impact and full size spare wheel unlike the European car), engine hood with cooling grid in «u» shape with rain cover attached below. Large rectangular repeaters side markers lights on front fenders (larger than on European cars) and rectangular side marker lights on each rear fender. Speedometer in MpH, calibrated up to 85 MpH, until 1982. «Slow Down» warning light on either side of the steering column. «Seat Belt» warning light dashboard, large handbrake and starter lights.

5- Factory Modifications:
